Hand carved and polished solid obsidian box. The deep black obsidian is mined communally in the Mexican state of Hidalgo and worked by hand in a workshop near the Pyramid of the Moon in Teotihuacán. A smooth, glass-like volcanic rock, obsidian has been a tool of healing for thousands of years and is said to counter fear, anxiety, and anger, and to clear negative energy from the psyche.

Each box is handmade and slightly different from any other. Each piece is approximately 4" long x 2 1/8" wide x 3" tall.
