Description
Small area rug hand crafted by Filipino artisans using local cotton. The design is known as "Kusikus" which translates to "whirlwind" – a hypnotizing motif that dates back to the 1500's pre-Spanish colonial Philippines. A mathematical pattern native to Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur in the Northern coastal regions, it was traditionally used to protect ships and to confuse and ward off evil spirits.
