Description
A naturally formed glass marine sponge found in the deep, dark waters of the Pacific Ocean. Young, small shrimp pairs enter the sponge and eventually become too large to get out, remaining together for life within its delicate, lacy walls. The pair procreate, and while their young are small and able to leave the Venus Flower Basket, the couple remain confined until death. The Venus Flower Basket has become a symbol of eternal love and in some cultures they are given as wedding gifts.
