Description
A limited edition infused floral perfume oil handmade using more than 12,000 desert verbena flowers wild foraged in Sedona AZ. Flowers in the arid southwest need sufficient water to bloom and it can take years, even decades, to get a significant enough bloom to make a few ounces of precious perfume oil. Our desert verbena is responsibly harvested so that the blossoms of any one plant are picked in moderate quantities only once in any given year so as to not disturb the seed bank.

Desert Verbena is a “first responder” of sorts, as it is one of the first plants to germinate after a wildfire and often even goes into a superbloom after the fire. The densely packed flowers will attract a variety of insects, including butterflies, beetles, and bees, who then attract birds that ingest and drop seeds, contributing to the regeneration and healing of the traumatized landscape.
Each flower in our perfume is hand picked, using just the tiny blossoms for the infused oil. The leaves, calyx, and any green matter of the plant are removed because those parts are covered with tiny glandular hairs that can impart an unpleasant aroma to the floral oil.
